Locks your insurer will recognise
Most home insurance policies quietly require British Standard locks: a BS3621 mortice deadlock on a timber door, or a TS007 3-star (or 1-star cylinder plus 2-star handle) on uPVC and composite doors. We fit exactly those, and you get a dated receipt with the lock grade printed on it to keep with your policy. Cheap cylinders from the DIY shed snap in seconds — ours don't.
One key for every door
Keyed-alike cylinders mean the front, back, side and patio doors all open with the same key. We do it on the spot while we're changing the locks, so you walk away with one key per person instead of a jangling bunch. Landlords and letting agents: ask about restricted-key systems where keys can only be cut with your authorisation.
Lock changes from £75
Lock changes start from £75 supplied and fitted, with no call-out fee. The engineer gives you a fixed price on the phone once he knows the door type and the number of locks, and that's the price on the receipt. Every lock and every hour of labour is guaranteed for 12 months.
When to change your locks
Moved into a new place? Lost a set of keys? Had a lodger, a cleaner or an ex move out? Lock seized, sticking or just thirty years old? Any of those is a good reason, and the peace of mind is immediate. Stellar Locksmith changes locks across London and the Home Counties seven days a week, with everything on the van so it's one visit, not two.
